ABOUT US

Between Times

Between Times is a new online journal based in the UK and continental Europe exploring the relevance of Christian faith in today’s world. Rooted in historic orthodoxy yet open to dialogue across traditions, we publish thoughtful, accessible articles that bring theology into conversation with the pressing cultural, political and spiritual questions of our age. Our aim is to provide a space where rigorous scholarship meets charitable discussion — serious without being inaccessible, grounded without being partisan.

Committed to Orthodoxy

Between Times exists to promote deeper understanding of the Christian faith and thoughtful reflection on its place in modern secular contexts in the UK, Europe and beyond.

Committed to Charitable Engagement

Between Times is committed to facing the challenges of secular modernity constructively and critically, refusing to capitulate or caricature in the face of disagreement.

Committed to Redemption

Living in a world marked by brokenness and redemptive grace, Between Times will encourage reflection on the opportunities and challenges present to Christians without nostalgia for the past or naivety regarding the future.

Committed to Dialogue

The journal’s content is moderated by an editorial team whose members share a Protestant catholic ethos and represent a breadth of voices within evangelicalism. Nonetheless the kind of understanding and communication we aspire to cannot be found in echo-chambers which prohibit disagreement. Between Times will mediate dialogue by hosting a broad range of voices: publication does not signal agreement.

Committed to Accessibility

Between Times offers concise presentations of front line theological reflection from exceptional scholars, without the stylistic or financial restrictions of a formal academic journal.

Committed to High Standards

Only accessible and academically rigorous essays meet Between Times’ editorial criteria.

Committed to Partnership

Between Times is co-hosted by The Chalmers Institute and Quo Vadis Institute.
